Where Does Kratom Come From?

Some argue that kratom can be grown anywhere, but this is not the case. The kratom tree, or Mitragyna Speciosa, is a venerable tree that has been around for centuries. As a member of the evergreen family, the kratom tree is in the same family as the coffee tree as they contain some of the same natural compounds.

The Mitragyna Speciosa tree is native to tropical islands such as Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo, Indonesia, Myanmar and Malaysia. Natives of these regions held the kratom tree in high esteem as they believed the leaves had healing powers. While this is an ancient belief, kratom does in fact provide many positive benefits.
